DETAILS
Adoption Support Alliance is offering an informative course led by co-founder & Executive Director, Erin Nasmyth, LCSW for anyone considering growing their family through adoption. Get help navigating the decisions that the process requires, hear from parents who have recently completed an adoption and meet others who are getting started. Topics covered include the logistics of the domestic & international adoption process (including the home study process, post-placement requirements and the laws governing the processes) as well as things to consider when starting your adoption journey (grief & trauma, race & culture and birth family relationships). Class will be offered in person at the ASA office (1501 East 7th Street Unit 6 Charlotte, NC 28204) on Saturday. June 24th from 1 to 4 PM. The cost of this class is $100. However, thanks to our generous donors, we are offering this class as "pay as you can". So, $100 covers your registration, and if you are able/willing to pay it choose the full-price ticket. You can also make an additional donation to offset the costs for others. If you would like to pay less, choose the free ticket and feel free to make a donation at the price that makes sense for you and your family. Unpaid costs for this class will be covered by our generous ASA donors! Registration is due one week prior to class, on June 17th. We will need a minimum of three families to register in order to hold the class. If we do not have enough participation, your payment will be refunded fully. If more than one person is attending from a family (i.e. two partners who will co-parent), only one registration is required.
